What kind of game is Battle for the Universe?
Battle for the Universe (BftU) is a real-time Mac-only network game. BftU features arcade-style play, but requires strategy to win. That is, with real-time gameplay BftU is much more exciting than turn-based strategy games, yet has much more depth than a "shoot-em-up".
What's new in Battle for the Universe?
Improvements in Version 2.0
Improvements in Version 1.1.1
Over which networks can Battle for the Universe be played?
Battle for the Universe uses Apple's NetSprocket technology and can be played over AppleTalk or TCP/IP on PowerMacs.
How do I find an opponent against whom to play (over the Internet)?
Support for BftU's built-in tracker has been discontinued for the time being as GameRanger has been proven to be a superior method of finding opponents. Direct TCP/IP connection via entering IP addresses is still maintained.
How do I register the game and what do I get?
Please see our Register section.
What's in store for the future?
A Fat Binary download plus other minor improvements, but for all intents and purposes, v2.0 is as robust as BftU will ever be. Enjoy!
